One day as Kenshin was playing with some of the children, (Tomoe is no fun, they said), he saw a strange young boy hitting a local boy. Kenshin runs over to them. But Tomoe called out the strange boy first. It's Enishi, Tomoe's brother. Kenshin mentioned that Tomoe and Enishi have the same eyes. Enishi bites his hand. Kenshin left them alone to reminisce. Inside the house, Enishi ask Tomoe to come back to Edo with him. Enishi told her that the Yaminobu had sent him when the time to kill Battousai comes. Tomoe refused. She told Enishi to go back alone and not get involved any further. After all, he is the eldest son of the Yukishiro family. Enishi rebelled. He asked her what has happened to her. She should remember that Kenshin stole her happiness. Why is Tomoe protecting Kenshin ?! Outside, Kenshin watches as Enishi walks by himself. Kenshin asked him where he was going. Enishi glared at him and cursed. Enishi ran off. Kenshin went inside and Tomoe quickly closed her diary. Tomoe decides that this was the time to tell Kenshin about herself. Snow is falling outside the house. Tomoe prepares tea. She told Kenshin about her family, Enishi and about her fiancé. But she didn't tell Kenshin about her plot to kill him. Tears were streaming down her face. Kenshin wrapped his arms around Tomoe. She sobbed and sobbed while Kenshin comforted her. Snow was falling even harder. They both were in a blanket covering them. Kenshin then told her about himself. About how he wanted to change the are. He then vowed to protect the people's happiness without taking a life. Then, he said to Tomoe, "The happiness that you've once lost, I will now protect it for you," Tomoe blushed slightly and smiled. The next morning, Tomoe woke up early and got dressed. Kenshin was still sleeping. Tomoe was thinking about Kenshin's comments yesterday. She knew that Kenshin stole her happiness but he also gave her another happiness. Kenshin cannot die. Tomoe steps outside the door. She smiled sweetly. Sayonara (Goodbye forever).. my second love. With that she closed the door.
