Tomoe is the reason I started reading RuroKen again. I stopped reading it during the fourth book because I thought it was boring. :P History bores me. But then after an accidental visit to a Tomoe shrine, I found out that Tomoe is Kenshin's first wife. First wife ?! I thought. But Kenshin is with Kaoru ! I was intrigued. Usually anime is about one true love. So I began reading the Jinchuu Arc first. After that, I read the rest of the series. (u_u) Then I got to love the whole of RuroKen. And because the artwork has improved greatly since the first few books, I was very impressed. What interest me about Tomoe ? She is very silent and reserved in a beutiful way. And after I read a lot more about her, I like her even more. She may not look like a caring person but she cares for Kenshin and Enishi very much. Tomoe seemed like she can do no mistakes. I think she is a very tragic character, just like Yumi (Shishio's help). I also think that Tomoe is better off with Kenshin when he was a battousai, not what he is now. (you know the Kenshin that goes 'oroo' all the time). Battousai was also like Tomoe, cold and quiet unlike the carefree Kenshin now. So, I do believe that she and Battousai loves each other. After all, she bares her emotions only to Kenshin. The Jinchuu arc, especially Kenshin's part is really like a drama. There's hardly any humor. Also, Nobuhiro Watsuki sensei's artwork is fabulous. He managed to draw Tomoe with such emotions. I really did want to cry when she died in Kenshin's arms.
In short, I like Tomoe because she cares so much about her beloved ones, that it didn't matter to her that she got hurt. Iwao Junko is so perfect ! She managed to put put such emotions into Tomoe ! Thank you so much ! Arigato, Nobuhiro Watsuki Sensei for creating her ! |
